Position: Event Operations Assistant Manager
About: Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium is seeking a meticulous Event Operations Assistant Manager to join our team. The Event Operations Assistant Manager is responsible for ensuring all daytime and evening public and private events are adequately operationalized, from set-up to clean-up. This position plays a crucial role in event excellence and business profitability by coordinating Event Captains, Event Assistants, and Bartenders to deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining a responsible labor balance. The role involves leading the hiring, training, and development of event talent, participating in day-of event execution, and representing the Zoo with vendors, staff, and clients. The position reports directly to the Manager of Events.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of 18 years of age; experience in Banquets, Food and Beverage service, or prior hospitality experience required; strong attention to detail; excellent written and oral communication skills; basic competence in subordinates’ duties and tasks; strong problem-solving and analytical skills; versatility, flexibility, and ability to work within constantly changing priorities; ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills and ability to deliver excellent customer service; ability to deal effectively with individuals at all organizational levels; good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
