Position: ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT – HERITAGE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
About: El Paso County is seeking a Heritage Tourism Development Specialist to coordinate and implement cultural and heritage tourism initiatives, as well as assist with historic and architectural preservation programs. The specialist will work closely with the Heritage Tourism Coordinator, various historical preservation groups, and other key stakeholders to promote and preserve the cultural heritage of the El Paso County area.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, historic preservation, history, fine arts, anthropology, architecture, archaeology, or related field; 2 years of professional experience in planning events and projects in a public setting, with 1 year of marketing experience; Must have or obtain a valid driver’s license; Strong knowledge of event/project planning, public engagement, procurement practices, media procedures, and marketing strategies; Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and present reports effectively; Proficiency in graphic design software; Excellent communication skills, both oral and written; Dependable, self-motivated, and able to establish cooperative relationships; Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred; Pass a Criminal Background Check
