Position: Dishwasher Steward
About: The Westin Detroit Metropolitan Airport in Romulus, Michigan, is seeking a Stewarding or Dishwasher for a full-time position. The role involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment, including dishwashers, hand wash stations, pot scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. The responsibilities include cleaning and disinfecting kitchen and storage areas, tables, utensils, knives, and equipment, receiving and storing perishable products, rotating stock, and ensuring clean dishes are properly stored. The ideal candidate will use detergents, disinfectants, and rinse chemicals in the dishwashing sink, inspect and stack clean items, and follow proper waste disposal and recycling procedures.
Requirements: Education: No high school diploma or equivalent required; General Educational Development (GED) program completion not necessary. Work Experience: No relevant work experience required. Supervisor Experience: No supervisory experience required. License or Certification: None. Desired Skills: Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, and follow safety protocols diligently. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential.
