Position: Director of Business Development – Sales & Events
About: Proper Hospitality is seeking a dynamic and well-connected Director of Business Development to drive rooms and event sales across our portfolio of boutique luxury lifestyle hotels. As a Business Development Director, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities across all of our hotels, with a focus on rooms and event business. Your primary goal will be to generate new clients, increase sales revenue, and foster relationships within key industries such as technology, fashion, finance, entertainment and public relations (PR). You will play a pivotal role in expanding our market presence and driving success for our properties.
Requirements: Industry Connections: Strong, existing network within the tech, fashion, finance, entertainment, and PR industries is essential; Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role within the hospitality, luxury, or lifestyle industries; Sales Expertise: Proven track record of generating new business, exceeding sales targets, and driving revenue growth, ideally across multiple properties or regions; Communication Skills: Excellent presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels; Self-Motivated: Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment; Travel: Willingness to travel frequently across our hotel locations and attend client meetings, networking events, and industry conferences as needed; Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, marketing, or a related field is preferred
