Position: Director, Engagement and Special Events
About: The Director of Engagement and Special Events (DESE) position at CalArts is a critical leadership role within the organization, responsible for planning and executing a variety of small and large-scale events to engage current and prospective supporters in the fields of higher education and the arts. This position involves creating unique event experiences from strategy development to budget management, with a focus on fostering relationships and building community involvement.
Requirements: Bachelor level degree required; Minimum 8+ years of event and program management experience, preferably in higher education, arts, or entertainment; Proficiency in Google Suite and fundraising databases; Experience in managing a variety of events including large-scale productions; Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; Ability to work effectively with diverse constituencies and handle multiple priorities simultaneously; Comfortable working in a hybrid model that includes in-person and remote work; Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
