Position: Dietitian
About: Norman Regional Health System is seeking a Clinical Dietitian-PRN to conduct initial nutrition assessments, provide ongoing reassessments, and offer nutrition education services to patients and staff. This role requires strong decision-making skills and a foundational knowledge of various subspecialties in nutrition. A Registered Dietitian credential and state licensure are essential for this position.
Requirements: Required: Any program approved by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics that leads to registration as a Registered Dietitian/Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist (RD/RDN). Basic knowledge of subspecialty areas including nutrition support, diabetes, cardiology, renal, oncology, etc. Must obtain approximately 15 hours of continuing education credits per calendar year. Keep current on new findings/research. Preferred: Six months of clinical experience in an acute care facility. Licensure/Certification: Registration with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and an Oklahoma State Dietitian license must be achieved within the first 6 months of employment. Must obtain a food handler’s permit from the Cleveland County Health department before hire (or within 1 week of hire). Completion of general and patient care orientation is required prior to providing patient care. Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must be able to use decision-making skills to make rational and quick decisions regarding prioritizing patient care. Have the foresight to recognize unsafe work conditions and/or practices. The ability to safely use chemicals and equipment for the patients, visitors, and staff. Knowledge base for the use of different formulas when assessing patients’ nutritional needs.
