Position: Development Manager, Leadership Events

About: The National Multiple Sclerosis Society mobilizes people and resources to drive research for a cure and to address the challenges of everyone affected by MS. They fund cutting-edge research, drive change through advocacy, provide professional education, collaborate with MS organizations globally, and offer programs and services to aid individuals with MS and their families in improving their lives.

Requirements: Minimum of 3+ years of progressive development and campaign/event experience; experience building and leading executive level fundraising committees; results-driven style with a proven track record of sales/fundraising success; proven success in building sustainable corporate relationships/sponsorships at $10,000+; thorough understanding and experience with corporate and individual giving; experience in preparing and managing significant operating budgets; self-starter with the ability to deliver on goals independently; ability to quickly build credibility within and outside the organization; demonstrated success in building a productive, cohesive team of staff and volunteer leaders; creative and energetic individual who functions well in a fast-paced, team environment with cross-department collaboration; ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff, and various constituents; outstanding customer service abilities; superb verbal, written, and communication skills; ability to manage and motivate groups internally and externally; excellent negotiation skills; advanced computer abilities (MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, online fundraising tools, databases); willingness to travel to designated regions approximately twice per year; ability to work selected nights and weekends, particularly in the month leading up to events
