Position: Deputy Director – Employer Engagement

About: The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of community-based organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish. Workforce Connect, a division of DYCD, oversees a portfolio of Youth and Adult Workforce Development programs, including initiatives like the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), Work, Learn and Grow (WLG), CRED NYC, Advance & Earn, and Train & Earn. These programs offer young adults career pathway opportunities through various services, such as academic instruction, work readiness training, and industry credential attainment.

Requirements: A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related activities; experience in workforce development field or working with out-of-school & out-of-work (OSOW) populations; knowledge of partnership building, public and private sector engagement; strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently; proficiency in Microsoft Office and data-driven systems
