Position: Criminal Division – Entry – Assistant State’s Attorney
About: The Cook County State’s Attorney Office in Chicago, Illinois is seeking an entry-level Assistant State’s Attorney to join the Criminal Prosecutions Bureau, focusing on Misdemeanor, Criminal Appeals, Traffic, Domestic Violence, and Juvenile Justice cases. Requirements: Applicants must possess a law degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school; be a member in good standing with the Illinois bar or eligible for admission to the Illinois bar on Motion (reciprocity); have 1 or more years of criminal law experience; demonstrate excellent legal research and writing abilities; exhibit the ability to articulate sound legal arguments orally and in writing, as well as the rationale for decisions made; have a solid work ethic, attention to detail, and accountability; be able to work independently and as part of a team, including courtroom personnel.
