Position: Coordinator, Sports and Competitions
About: Special Olympics Tennessee is seeking a dedicated Coordinator of Sports and Competitions to uphold the mission of providing quality sports training and competition experiences for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The position involves planning and managing State and Regional competitions to ensure the success of athletes and coaches in a supportive environment.
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent; five years of experience in recreation or sports management including two years in volunteer/staff management; paid or volunteer experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred; excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in diverse and stressful situations; proficiency in technology including Microsoft Office and Google Docs; willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends; valid driver’s license and meeting Tennessee vehicle insurance requirements; pass criminal background screening and random drug testing
