Position: Coordinator, Sport and Youth Programs
About: The VP STUDENT ENROLLMENT, ENGAGEMENT & SERVICES in Norfolk, VA is seeking a dedicated Coordinator for Sport and Youth Programs to assist in the operation, development, and growth of sports and youth programs for Recreation and Wellness. The position entails responsibilities such as program scheduling, staff supervision, advising sport clubs, training officials, risk management, budget management, accreditation, parent communication, and player eligibility. The role may require work during university closings as directed by the supervisor, including remote work options.
Requirements: A Master’s degree in Recreation Administration, Sports Management, or related field is required; or a bachelor’s degree in the indicated areas with equivalent to an advanced degree. Working knowledge of comprehensive sport programs, inventory control, marketing principles, interpersonal and communication skills, organizational skills, scheduling, budget management, and professional interaction with diverse groups. Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required or ability to obtain within three months of employment. Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record necessary. Prior experience in intramural sports, youth programs, and operating Microsoft Office preferred.
