Position: Cook – PRN/Days-1st Shift (Medical Center)
About: Houston Methodist Hospital, affiliated with the Weill Medical College of Cornell University and New York-Presbyterian Hospital, is seeking a dedicated Cook to ensure high volume/high-quality food service setup/assembly for patients, staff, and visitors in adherence to set standards. The role involves hot and cold food production, communication with peers and management on workplace hazards, compliance with food and nutrition service standards, and potential assistance in other areas as required.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent education preferred; one year of food service/cooking experience; possession of a Food Handlers Permit by the Texas Department of State Health Services or the American National Standards Institute; knowledge of kitchen food service equipment, sanitation principles, Serve Safe guidelines, and Health department standards; ability to communicate effectively and work positively with patients, physicians, and colleagues
