Position: Cook job
About: The Cook position is located within the Nutrition and Food Service at the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System (VASNHS) in Las Vegas, NV. The WG-8 Cook is responsible for organizing and coordinating inventory controls and food production of lower grade cooks in a production kitchen. The role involves independently preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for service to the Veterans.
Requirements: A specific length of training and experience is not required, but applicants must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the position. Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Federal Wage System Qualification Standards. Experience in dexterity, safety, interpreting instructions, technical practices, and using and maintaining tools and equipment is necessary. Applicants should be able to work without more than normal supervision and demonstrate good work practices.
