Position: Cook job
About: This position is for the Fort Sam Houston Golf Course located in San Antonio, Texas. It is a flexible category position with no guaranteed hours, with the possibility of working up to 40 hours per week on an as-needed basis. Employees appointed to this position are not eligible for benefits. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds and continuous standing, walking, stooping, reaching, pulling, and bending for extended periods of time.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a background investigation with favorable results; successful completion of a pre-employment physical; obtain a Food Handler’s Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training; must be a U.S. Citizen or Legal U.S. Resident for a minimum of 3 years; experience in food preparation and presentation in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar setting; ability to follow oral and written instructions, work safely, and perform simple arithmetic; knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment and characteristics of various foods; ability to season food and determine when food is done
