About: Abraxas Youth & Family Services, a national nonprofit human services provider dedicated to Building Better Futures for at-risk youth, adults, and families since 1973.
Requirements: Must be able to prepare entire meals for groups of people; Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation and handling technique; General knowledge of safety and sanitation rules and practices; Ability to work well independently given proper direction; Responsible for hot food preparation, including accompaniments and garnishes; Prepares hot entrees, soups, and vegetables following preparation sheets and provided recipes for dining room service, healthcare center, cafeteria, and special functions; Does advance preparation as indicated; Completes food temperature checks each meal; Completes production records and stores food items properly at close of meal service; 1 year prior experience in food preparation obtained in a commercial, military, or institutional setting strongly preferred; High School Diploma or GED; At least twenty-one (21) years of age; Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State and child clearances and, if necessary, FBI); Drug Screen, TB Test; Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
