Position: Cook – Full Time/Days-1st Shift (Medical Center)
About: Houston Methodist Hospital, located in the Texas Medical Center, is seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Cook to ensure high-volume, high-quality food service for patients, staff, and visitors. The Cook will be responsible for both hot and cold food production, adherence to safety and sanitation guidelines, and maintaining food quality standards in line with Houston Methodist’s mission.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; one year of food service/cooking experience required; holds a Food Handlers Permit from the Texas Department of State Health Services (TXDSHS) or ANSI; proficiency in English for effective communication; knowledge of Serve Safe guidelines, kitchen equipment, and sanitation principles; understanding of buffet receptions, upscale plated menu items, and volume batch cooking
