About: Caltech Dining Services, located at the renowned Caltech science and engineering institute, is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join their dynamic team. The Dining Services Department operates multiple dining units and caters to a diverse campus community, providing exceptional culinary experiences for students and staff.
Requirements: 3 years of experience cooking in a high-volume restaurant or food service facility; proficient knife skills, ingredient knowledge, cooking skills; ability to work well in a team, take direction positively; flexibility, ownership, and initiative; ability to read, write, and understand English; ability to lift up to 50 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods, move with ease, and perform various physical tasks; punctuality and reliable attendance; possession of a food handler’s certificate or ability to obtain one by the time of hire; basic mathematical skills for food production calculations
