Position: Cook 2 – Saltine – Hilton Norfolk The Main
About: The Cook II position is responsible for preparing food in accordance with production requirements and standard recipes at a high-volume kitchen. The role often involves working at the grill, broil, sauté, and raw bar stations. The Cook II maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe station to ensure the delivery of safe and quality products to guests.
Requirements: Able to read, write, and speak basic English; able to understand and apply basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division); able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions; able to push, stand, stoop, bend, and lift items weighing up to 50-70 pounds repetitively; good attitude and work ethic; flexible schedule including weekends and holidays; ability to work in a high-stress and fast-paced environment; functions safely and efficiently under extreme kitchen heat conditions; at least 2 years of experience working in a high-volume kitchen; possess full knowledge of proper cooking techniques for safe food handling and adherence to recipes.
