Position: Control Room Operator
About: Eagle Point is a 237MW natural gas-fired or liquid fuel-fired facility located in Westville, NJ. It initially operated as a cogeneration facility providing steam and power to an adjacent refinery in 1991 and transitioned to a full Independent Power Producer serving the PJM market in 2012. The facility boasts two GE Frame 7EA turbine generator sets, an ABB Vax steam turbine generator set, and a Siemens SST-400 steam turbine generator set.
Requirements: Ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the area of assignment acquired in four years of high school; NJ State Engineer’s License Red Seal within a year; works well in a team environment; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to train other employees in efficient and safe operation of facility; flexible coverage capability for dispatches; ability to detect, diagnose, and repair equipment malfunctions; must be multi-task oriented with ability to make expeditions appropriate decisions in non-routine plant operating situations; four years of gas or steam turbine operating experience desired; experience with turbine control systems; proficient computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, DCS systems, OSI PI, and GE turbine control systems; experience with MP2 or similar CMMS; successfully complete the CRO qualification; able to obtain a Transportation Worker’s Identification Card (TWIC) and maintain it; valid driver’s license required
