Position: Coding Specialist I – Facility Outpatient
About: MedStar Health, a leading healthcare organization, is seeking a Coding Specialist I to join their Coding Operations team. The successful candidate should be self-motivated with at least one year of experience in facility coding, particularly in Emergency Department, Observation, and/or Ambulatory Surgery. Selected candidates will enjoy a full-time, Monday-Friday, daytime REMOTE schedule. Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent required; courses in Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, ICD-CM required and CPT-4 preferred; coding experience and experience with clinical information systems (3M grouper, electronic medical records, computer-assisted coding); CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CCA (Certified Coding Associate) or other coding certification credentials within 1 Year required; RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) and RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator) preferred; verbal and written communication skills; basic computer skills required
