Position: Child Nutrition – Assistant Cook Manager
About: Bethel School District in Spanaway, WA is seeking an Assistant Cook Manager to join their Child Nutrition team. This role involves assisting a Cook Manager at an assigned central kitchen, preparing, cooking, and serving food to staff and students, coordinating kitchen staff, and maintaining a safe and sanitary cafeteria environment. Additional responsibilities may include assisting in filling and shipping food orders to other school locations.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; two (2) years of experience in commercial, institutional, or school food service lead or supervisory role preferred; SNA (State Nutrition Association) certification required; knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and policies governing school nutrition services programs; skill in food production and preparation; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; valid Washington state food handler’s permit; must pass a pre-placement physical and testing
