Position: Chief Sommelier

About: We are currently seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Chief Sommelier to join our cruise ship team. As the Chief Sommelier, you will be responsible for curating an exceptional wine program and providing outstanding wine service to our guests. Your expertise, leadership skills, and passion for wine will contribute to creating unforgettable dining experiences on board.

Requirements: Wine Expertise: Extensive knowledge of wines, including different grape varieties, regions, vintages, and production methods. Certification from reputable wine education programs (such as WSET) is highly desirable;Experience: Proven experience as a Sommelier in high-end restaurants, hotels, or cruise ships. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is preferred;Service Excellence: A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a demonstrated ability to interact with guests in a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable manner;Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate wine information and recommendations to guests and team members effectively;Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to train and motivate a team of sommeliers and dining staff;Multicultural Awareness: Cultural sensitivity and the ability to cater to a diverse international clientele, understanding their preferences and adapting the wine program accordingly;Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills to manage wine inventory, track sales, and maintain accurate records;Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests related to the wine program;Adaptability: Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adjusting to the ship’s schedule and itinerary changes as required;Language Skills: Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills are advantageous, particularly those commonly spoken by cruise ship guests.
