Position: Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
About: Oceans Behavioral Hospital is seeking a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to provide assessment, individualized intervention planning, treatment planning, and group therapy to advance patient progress according to Joint Commission, Federal and State Regulations, and Oceans Behavioral Hospital’s mission. The Specialist will work in a high-paced and stressful environment, with responsibilities including conducting therapy, completing necessary paperwork, participating in treatment team meetings, and documenting services.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree and CTRS license with yearly certification maintenance required; three (3) years of clinical practice in inpatient acute care and one-year supervisory experience preferred; must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-related and disability-related care; in-depth knowledge of mental illness, chemical dependency, and clinical therapy modalities; excellent communication and group skills; ability to work under close supervision, handle stressful situations, and manage a multi-faceted workload; CPR certification and Oceans approved behavioral de-escalation program completion required.
