Position: Host/Cashier
About:
Southern Kitchen is looking for an individual to rotate positions as a Cashier and a Host/Hostess on a weekly basis. You will:
• Greet customers with a friendly greeting
• Provide customers with accurate wait times
• Rotate seating between different sections to ensure even workloads for waitstaff
• Keep front door and floor area clean
• Clean menus as needed throughout the day
• Properly run cash register, count back change and thoroughly run credit card machines
• Take to-go orders and bag them accordingly
• Complete side work or any other duties deemed necessary before leaving and check out with a manager
• Report any problems to a manager
Requirements:
• Appearance must be neat and clean, with the proper uniform according to our requirements
• Must be able to stand on your feet for 6-hour increments
• Must be able to effectively communicate with the team
• Must have a food handlers certificate (or obtain one within 2 weeks of being hired) and understand the restaurant’s sanitation rules
• Must be able to memorize the menu and have decent phone etiquette for to-go orders
