Position: Bread Baker
About: The Albert C. Wiltshire Employment Center recruits qualified candidates for positions within the Brooklyn Navy Yard, a 300-acre industrial park housing over 400 businesses within the manufacturing, food, media, technology, and creative fields. A Brooklyn Navy Yard-based bakery is seeking a Bread Baker. This Brooklyn-based bakery works exclusively with local, organic grains and specializes in naturally fermented doughs. We are currently seeking a Baker to join our small team. Our bakery is part of The Marlow Collective, a group of Brooklyn food businesses including the restaurants Diner, Marlow & Sons, Roman’s, and Achilles Heel, the butcher and grocery shop Marlow & Daughters, Stranger Wines & Spirits, and Marlow Events. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum age to serve alcohol; at least one year of experience in pastry or baking; ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; availability to work weekends and some holidays; standing, walking, reaching, talking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching are requirements; work experience in a professional kitchen setting; passion for naturally leavened bread; strong communication skills; respectful attitude towards colleagues and ingredients
