Position: Bistro Server
About: The Courtyard by Marriott Tacoma Downtown is seeking a Bistro Server/Bartender to join our team. The Bistro Server maintains efficient and courteous operation of the bistro, responsible for set up, making specialty coffee drinks and cocktails, and clean up of the Bistro area according to established company and brand standards, policies, and procedures to ensure an outstanding guest experience. This position also includes cooking duties.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; one year of culinary or related food-handling experience preferred; knowledge of food and beverage products, preparation, and handling techniques; health codes, food sanitation, and safety practices; principles of providing customer service including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; standard cash handling procedures; ability to establish and maintain effective professional, courteous, constructive relationships with guests, staff, and management team; communicate effectively in the English language; add, subtract, multiply, and divide quickly and accurately to handle money, give correct change, balance till, and prepare cash drops; proficiency with Point of Sale (Micros preferred) computer system or similar; maintain a neat and clean appearance to meet hotel standards and represent the hotel positively; excellent communication skills; multi-task and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment; serve alcohol responsibly; meet attendance requirements with dependability and consistency
