Position: Bakery Manager

Requirements: Birch Bakehouse is seeking an experienced Bakery Manager / Head Pastry Chef to oversee daily operations, develop the menu, and build a talented team. This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with the founder and help shape the future of Birch Bakehouse.

Responsibilities
– Collaborate with the founder to establish the bakery and drive growth.
– Lead and inspire a team of bakers and pastry assistants.
– Develop baking schedules to ensure freshness and efficiency.
– Innovate new products, including sweet and savory treats, seasonal menus, and catering options.
– Manage inventory and source quality ingredients within budget.
– Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
– Recruit, train, and mentor staff as needed.
– Rotate as Manager on Duty to maintain cleanliness and brand standards.
– Handle customer inquiries and feedback professionally.
Qualifications
– 5+ years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Baker.
– Strong leadership and communication skills.
– Creativity and exceptional attention to detail.
– Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
– Knowledge of food safety, baking techniques, and nutrition.
– Previous managerial experience preferred.
– Food Handler’s Certificate required.
Physical Requirements
– Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
– Frequent lifting up to 15 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
– Regular bending, reaching, and handling FDA-approved cleaning chemicals.
