Position: Bartender job
About: Responsible for preparing and serving beverages directly to customers seated at the bar as well as in the lounge area or at dining tables. Also responsible for food service to those guests seated at the bar. Must be willing and able to arrange and set up beverages, beverage mixes, and supplies in an efficient and professional manner according to standing operating procedure. Complete all side work when and as assigned. Prepare ingredients needed for recipes of mixed beverages. Safely use equipment and utensils as prescribed in preparation of beverages. Prepare beverages according to prescribed recipes including alcohol content. Use proper method according to standing operating procedure to ensure exact alcohol pour measures. Count and be responsible for the cash drawer. Operate all functions of bar service alone and without assistance if necessary. Take and fill food orders from guests seated at the bar utilizing available communication equipment including a computer register system. Communicate cordially, clearly, and effectively with co-workers. Communicate with guests in a friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner. Accurately record and account for all items served to guests and other employees. Account for and maintain security of bar stock inventory. Relate to guests pleasantly and with good humor. Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of bar service according to standing operating procedure. Assist host staff with answering telephones.
Requirements: Qualification standards: Must have 2 years of experience in full-service bar or equivalent. Must have accurate mathematic skills. Must have knowledge and experience in the preparation of alcoholic beverages. Must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use. Must be willing and able to meet personal schedule requirements punctually, be courteous, pleasant, and good-natured. Communicate with and understand the average guest. Provide a persona compatible with the established image of the restaurant. Stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty. Work nights, weekends, and holidays. Accurately work with and account for large sums of money. Open beer, liquor, and wine bottles frequently. When the bar back is not available, must be physically able to move and transport filled glass racks. Must move cases of beer, wine, or liquor.
