Requirements: Qualification standards: Must have 2 years of experience in full-service bar or equivalent; must have accurate mathematical skills; must have knowledge and experience in the preparation of alcoholic beverages; must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use. Additional requirements include familiarity with menu and specials, wine list, liquor list and recipes for special drinks, liquor liability laws, accounting procedures; ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually, be courteous, pleasant, and good-natured, communicate with and understand the average guest, provide a persona compatible with the established image of the restaurant, stand or walk for long periods of time while on duty, work nights, weekends, and holidays, accurately work with and account for large sums of money, open beer, liquor, and wine bottles frequently, be physically able to move and transport filled glass rack when bar back is not available, move cases of beer, wine, or liquor.
