Requirements: Must have 2 years of experience in full-service bar or equivalent; must have accurate mathematic skills; must have knowledge and experience in the preparation of alcoholic beverages; must have thorough knowledge of types of liquors and wine and their distinctions and use. Familiarity with menu, specials, wine list, liquor list, special drink recipes, liquor liability laws, and accounting procedures. Ability to meet personal schedule requirements punctually, be courteous, pleasant, and good-natured, communicate effectively with guests, maintain restaurant’s established image, stand or walk for long periods, work nights, weekends, holidays, handle large sums of money accurately, open beer, liquor, and wine bottles frequently, move and transport glass racks, cases of beer, wine, or liquor when bar back is not available.
