Position: Banquet Captain, Catering
About: Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, is looking for a dedicated Catering Banquet Captain to oversee and assist in the execution of all catered events, working closely with the catering operations team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional service quality on a 330+ acre campus and arboretum.
Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is required; an Associate’s degree is preferred; ServSafe certification within 3 months of hire; at least 3 years of related experience; at least 2 years offsite catering experience preferred; ability to drive a catering van and box truck; proficiency in Microsoft Office and Food and Labor Management Systems; strong communication and customer service skills; ability to make on-site decisions and manage conflicts effectively; must be flexible, high energy, and able to work varied schedules including nights and weekends; must be able to lift and transport items up to 50 lbs.
