Position: Banquet Captain, Catering
About: Vanderbilt University, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is seeking a Catering Banquet Captain to oversee and assist with the execution of daily catered events at the campus. The role involves working closely with contracted wait staff, student employees, and Vanderbilt Campus Dining hourly union employees to ensure seamless operations at various events.
Requirements: A high school diploma or GED is necessary; an Associate’s degree is preferred; must be ServSafe certified within 3 months of hire; must have at least 3 years of related experience; at least 2 years of offsite catering, restaurants, or specialty events experience is strongly preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Food and Labor Management Systems is necessary; ability to drive a catering van and medium size box truck is required; strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary; must have strong time management and organizational skills; ability to make on-site decisions and deliver exceptional customer service is necessary; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and meet other physical demands.
