About: Baker Ripley is a community-based organization in Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast region dedicated to providing resources, education, and connection to emerging neighborhoods. Their mission is to keep Houston a place of opportunity for all by supporting youth, families, and seniors striving for a better life. They aim to address functional illiteracy among adults, which was reported at 32% in Harris County in 2017 according to the Program for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIACC).
Requirements: Some college education; experience in volunteer coordination, mentoring, or job coaching preferred; skills in social services, recruitment, leadership, teamwork, public speaking, writing/editing, computers/technology, and community organization
