Position: Attorney, Business & Legal Affairs, Bilingual (English/Spanish)(Talent Pool)
About: Universal Music Group is seeking a highly motivated attorney for the business and legal affairs department in Miami Beach FL and Los Angeles CA. The attorney will work with and report directly to the EVP of business and legal affairs, overseeing various legal matters including recorded music, digital deals, management agreements, and more. This role offers a fast-paced environment with opportunities for growth and collaboration within the music industry.
Requirements: Bilingual-English/Spanish (both written and spoken) required; Bar license required: FL, CA, NY; 3-5 years’ experience; Law firm experience or in-house experience in transactional matters preferred; Music or Entertainment industry experience preferred; Knowledge of agreements relating to the production, distribution, sales, marketing, financing of recorded music and video product preferred; Must be adept at drafting and negotiating recorded content acquisition and exploitation agreements in English and Spanish; Knowledge of record label issues preferred; Knowledge of copyright law encouraged; Computer experience: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required; Adobe Acrobat Pro preferred; Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; Highly motivated and with a desire to work in a team environment; Strong analytical capabilities; Resourceful and able to pivot quickly, think practically, and be solution-oriented; Ability to keep information confidential; Must be willing to work extended hours; Must be self-directed and well organized
