Position: Assistant Professor of Event Management – School of Business Administration
About: Widener University, located in Chester, PA, is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Event Management within the School of Business Administration. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting research, and contributing to service activities within the department, college, and community. Requirements: A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism Management, Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited institution by the time of appointment; Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; Evidence of an active research agenda with a focus on event management and secondary areas such as marketing, sports marketing, sports management, management, project management, or a related field; Ability to secure external funding for research and program development; Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to fostering inclusivity; Experience with online and hybrid teaching modalities preferred; Professional experience in the event management industry is a plus
