Position: Assistant Professor – Communication
About: Hawai’i Pacific University is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Communication, with a focus on public relations, advertising, marketing, media strategy, and event planning. The successful candidate will play a key role in the MA in Strategic Communication program as well as the B.A in Communication Studies and Practices. A demonstrated commitment to experiential and project-based learning is crucial, along with a track record of placing students in the industry. The role involves coaching HPU’s national award-winning advertising club and National Student Advertising Competition team, staying current in the field, and engaging in effective instructional methods to enhance student learning.
Requirements: Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate in Communication or a related field, or a Master’s degree in Communication or a related field with professional experience. Experience teaching courses in public relations, marketing, media strategy, event planning, and advertising is required, along with a commitment to experiential learning. Desired qualifications include professional experience in relevant industries, graduate student teaching experience, and the ability to work effectively in a diverse educational environment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
