Position: Assistant Manager (Lowell/Winthrop)

About: Harvard University’s Hospitality & Dining Services is seeking a Food Services Professional II to join their team in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The position involves overseeing the operational management of a retail unit, leading a team of non-exempt service staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing outstanding customer service. It also entails employee and labor management responsibilities, including promoting a positive work environment and ensuring compliance with employment practices. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant work experience and a degree in Hospitality Management or equivalent experience. They must be adaptable to changing environments, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate exceptional customer service abilities.

Requirements: Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience; Associates or Bachelors Degree in Hospitality Management or related field; Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays; Experience with the sale and execution of catered events; Experience managing in a unionized environment; Knowledge of Kronos timekeeping software or similar system; Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service; Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills and an ability to communicate effectively with a diverse constituency; Strong time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills; Ability to meet multiple deadlines and manage competing priorities
