Position: Assistant Baker
About: Under the direction of the Bakery Manager, Principal Baker, Senior Baker, or Baker, the Baker Assistant is responsible for the production of multiple bakery products from a specified menu. They prepare basic bakery recipes according to culinary, production, and quality standards. Duties include weighing, sifting, measuring, and mixing baking ingredients, as well as preparing and baking various baked goods. The assistant also operates bakery equipment, trains others on safe equipment usage, adheres to food handling and sanitation guidelines, and follows production timelines.
Requirements: 2-3 years demonstrated experience in a high-volume baking environment and general maintenance in a bakery environment. Ability to read, understand, and speak English for carrying out job duties. Skill in effectively interacting with guests, team members, and managers in a high-volume production setting. Capability to perform under fluctuating workloads, stand for extended periods, lift items up to fifty pounds, and measure foodstuffs accurately. Proficiency in operating baking equipment, knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures, previous experience in high-volume bakery preparation, basic bakery skills, time management, organizational skills, and ability to work in a team-based environment.
