Position: Arriba Abajo – Barback | Full-Time
About: Arriba Abajo is a Cantina-themed Bar and Restaurant inside the Thompson and Tommie Austin hotels, located in Downtown Austin. This new concept offers 17,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor dining and lounge space, multiple venues for private events, and a pool deck serving hotel guests and residents. The Barback role involves ensuring fully stocked bars, with a focus on good communication skills, ability to lift moderate weight, and constant customer interaction in a fast-paced environment. The Thompson and Tommie Austin hotels provide tailored experiences for guests, offering luxury accommodations, wellness centers, restaurant and bar concepts, event spaces, and unique opportunities to explore and be inspired by Austin’s offerings. Both hotels also feature a cantina-themed restaurant and additional street-side dining options.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred; ability to lift moderate amounts of weight; stand for long periods; work cohesively in a team; flexible schedule including day shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays; excellent verbal communication skills
