Position: Animal Welfare Host – Husbandry Assistant
About: Working alongside the Displays Team to maintain all aspects of the daily care, feeding, and life support system maintenance of a diverse collection of freshwater and marine animals at SEA LIFE Grapevine. The position ensures the highest standards of animal husbandry, exhibit presentation, technical operation, and safety in all operational areas to deliver a World Class guest experience.
Requirements: Qualified candidates will possess at minimum a high school diploma/GED. A B.A. or B.S. or 2-year technical degree, preferably in Life Science, is strongly desired. Experience in a public aquarium or zoo as a volunteer and/or intern is preferred. Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Great organization skills, detail-oriented, and self-starter. Ability to work with people from all levels of discipline. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Open to new learning and quickly adapts to change. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 lbs and have or be able to obtain a KS or MO driver’s license. First Aid and CPR certifications are preferred.
