Position: Administrative Assistant – Public Works Administration
About: Marion County Public Works is looking for an Administrative Assistant to support essential functions like recruitment, payroll, and employee support. The role involves acting as a liaison between Marion County Public Works and the County’s Human Resources and Central Payroll teams to ensure smooth operations and compliance with policies and regulations.
Requirements: Graduation from high school or equivalent; Four years of progressively responsible experience in an office environment in a liaison or coordinating role; Supplemental coursework in business administration, accounting, or related field preferred; Must pass a criminal history background check; Possess a current driver’s license with an acceptable driving history; Full-time position with overtime eligibility; Knowledge of administrative procedures, office equipment, and computer programs; Effective communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to coordinate work effectively and maintain working relationships with coworkers and the public; Physical capability to operate a motor vehicle, lift up to 30 lbs, stand, sit, and perform various physical tasks.
