Opportunity to work in a fun, vibrant setting on the San Antonio River Walk
Job Description
Rita's on the River LLC is a celebrated dining establishment located on the San Antonio River Walk, a nationally recognized destination known for its vibrant atmosphere and exceptional hospitality. As part of the Weston Corporate Services hospitality group, Rita's on the River carries a strong commitment to offering memorable experiences not only for guests but also for its team members and the wider community. The restaurant is famous for its delicious margaritas, handmade tortillas, and sizzling fajitas, making it a beloved spot where locals and visitors alike bring their friends and family for an authentic Tex-Mex dining experience. Known affectionately as "Where we take our friends from out of town," Rita's on the River offers ample river seating and a lively ambiance that encapsulates the spirit of San Antonio's rich culinary and cultural heritage.
Rita's on the River is currently seeking enthusiastic and customer-focused Food Runners to join their dynamic team. This role is vital in ensuring timely delivery of food orders to guests, contributing directly to an efficient and enjoyable dining experience. Food Runners at Rita's will play a key part in connecting the kitchen and the dining area, making sure that every dish reaches guests accurately and professionally. The position offers both full-time and part-time shifts, with the restaurant closed on Sundays, providing some flexibility. Pay ranges from $15 per hour, reflecting the competitive and fair compensation offered.
As a Food Runner, candidates will work in a fun, fast-paced, Tex-Mex restaurant environment located on the scenic River Walk. This role demands attention to detail, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a team-oriented mindset. You will collaborate closely with servers, kitchen staff, and managers to maintain the flow of orders and ensure guest satisfaction. Responsibilities include delivering food promptly, assisting with guests' needs such as providing sauces or utensils, helping maintain cleanliness in various service areas, and supporting restocking efforts.
This job requires physical stamina as it involves standing and walking for extended periods, carrying trays and plates, and navigating through busy restaurant spaces. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a team-focused environment. Prior casual dining experience is preferred but not required, as Rita's is happy to train individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a passion for hospitality. Additionally, candidates must have a Food Handler's Certification and a Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission Certification.
Joining Rita's on the River means becoming part of a workforce dedicated to delivering outstanding hospitality, fostering teamwork, and creating memorable guest experiences. The restaurant's mission emphasizes providing a better life for team members, offering memorable moments for guests, and making a tangible positive impact on the community with kindness and care. If you love connecting with people, enjoy working in a lively environment, and want to be part of a respected and well-known restaurant on the San Antonio River Walk, this Food Runner position is an excellent opportunity to grow your career in hospitality while contributing to a welcoming and vibrant dining atmosphere.
