Job Description
Copra is a vibrant restaurant dedicated to celebrating the rich culinary heritage of India through authentic, soulful dishes crafted with honesty and integrity. The establishment takes pride in sourcing the finest ingredients to ensure the highest quality in every meal served. As a part of its core values, Copra emphasizes respect, right intentions, integrity, inclusivity, professionalism, authenticity, and empathy, creating a warm and welcoming environment for both guests and employees alike. This dedication to excellence and genuine hospitality has made Copra a beloved destination for those seeking memorable dining experiences that not only delight the palate but also foster meaningful human connections through a shared love for India’s culinary traditions and vibrant culture.
Copra is currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to fill various part-time roles including Host, Food Runner, Backwaiter/Busser, and Expediter. These positions are integral to ensuring the seamless flow of service and outstanding guest experiences during brunch and dinner services. The schedules for these roles include Saturday and Sunday mornings, weekend evenings, and occasional weeknight shifts, offering flexibility suitable for students, hospitality professionals, or individuals seeking supplemental income. The roles require a commitment to teamwork, composure under pressure, and a genuine love of hospitality.
The Brunch Host plays a crucial role in managing guest seating and flow throughout the restaurant, optimizing table usage without compromising service quality. Responsibilities include handling reservations, maintaining the waitlist, communicating effectively with both guests and staff, and ensuring the dining environment is clean and orderly. The Host is the first point of contact and the last farewell for guests, embodying the spirit of hospitality that Copra stands for.
The Food Runner operates as the vital link between the kitchen and dining room, ensuring meals are delivered swiftly and correctly while maintaining communication between the expeditor, chefs, and floor staff. This role demands an in-depth knowledge of the menu to address guest inquiries and has a key function in maintaining a positive dining atmosphere.
Backwaiters/Bussers support the front-of-house team by maintaining table settings, assisting with water service, clearing and resetting tables, and fostering a clean and organized dining space. They collaborate closely with servers and management to guarantee a smooth dining experience for guests.
The Expediter oversees the final phase of food preparation and service, ensuring each dish meets quality standards before it reaches the guest. They coordinate among kitchen staff, management, and floor teams to facilitate accurate and timely meal delivery, addressing dietary restrictions and allergen information as necessary.
All roles require candidates to be authorized to work in the United States and to hold current Food Handler and Unlawful Harassment training certificates. Successful employees will demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to upholding Copra's values and standards. By joining Copra, team members become part of a close-knit and empowering community devoted to hospitality excellence, cultural celebration, and ongoing learning and growth within the restaurant industry.
