The Food Prep Worker position at Aramark is an essential role focused on preparing and portioning food items in accordance with production demands and strict sanitation standards. This role involves using daily worksheets and standardized recipes to cook meals efficiently. Working as a Food Prep Worker at Aramark means you will be part of a team dedicated to delivering top-quality food products while strictly adhering to Aramark's food safety and sanitation protocols.

The hourly compensation for this role ranges from $17.00 to $20.00, reflective of Aramark's commitment to offering competitive wages within the food services industry. As a Food Prep Worker, responsibilities include preparing all food items according to prep lists and Aramark standardized recipes, maintaining proper food handling and temperature control procedures to ensure freshness and safety. You will be responsible for accurate rotation of food items, correct management and storage of leftovers, and maintaining clean and sanitary refrigerators and work areas. Ensuring all stations and kitchen equipment are cleaned and sanitized at the end of each shift is critical to maintaining safety and quality standards. This role also requires adherence to all safety policies, including accident reporting, and completion of any required food safety training.

Physical demands of the job can include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. Employees are expected to comply with uniform policies and may need to utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) to ensure safety and hygiene.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum one-year prep work or food service-related work preferred
  • knowledge of food prep, proper knife handling, temperature control, and sanitation is helpful
  • must be able to read and write to facilitate communication with others
  • demonstrates basic math and counting skills
  • ability to perform physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing
  • willingness to comply with uniform and personal protective equipment requirements
