Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Wedding coordination and/or event planning experience
  • Three years experience in the food and beverage industry
  • Banquet serving experience
  • Background in wedding and event industry
  • Experience in customer service or people-oriented fields
  • Ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability and willingness to lift objects and set up for events
  • Professional dress required
  • Cover letter required
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds or more
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and crouch

Job Qualifications

  • State required alcohol seller server certification
  • Food handling certification
  • At least one year banquet server experience
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills
  • Exceptional computer, Microsoft Office, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Leadership ability to direct event day teams
  • Experience in wedding coordination and event planning
  • Knowledge of customer service practices
  • Ability to multitask and manage detailed event plans
  • Experience with social media marketing
  • Experience supervising banquet staff

Job Duties

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook
  • Assist and lead client meetings and offer guidance throughout planning process
  • Collect and process payments, update invoices
  • Maintain communication and relationships with clients through proper channels
  • Enter and maintain all data including timelines, calendars, layouts, files
  • Set and attend catering and design/decor meetings with clients
  • Coordinate timelines of all vendors for events
  • Manage receivables
  • Serve as "Day of Coordinator" for weddings, special events, and meetings
  • Supervise banquet staff members in conjunction with the Banquet Captain
  • Ensure all details are entered into Reserve system and noted in Banquet Event Order
  • Attend weekly team meetings to ensure all details are correctly communicated
  • Answer phones as needed and perform other office tasks
  • Attend trade shows, wedding shows, and industry mixers as needed
  • Assist General Manager and Finance Manager as needed
  • Participate in social media marketing and email campaigns
  • Orient, train, and develop personnel within area of responsibility
  • Coordinate and motivate efforts of personnel
  • Identify needs for disciplinary action and recommend appropriate actions
  • Ensure prompt, courteous food and beverage service throughout banquets
  • Observe guests and respond immediately to requests
  • Respond to and resolve guest needs
  • Inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions
  • Respond to operational and/or guest issues and ensure follow through
  • Maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness of banquet rooms
  • Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and management
  • Provide value-added service to exceed customer expectations
  • Assure all rooms are set up as specified and on time
  • Coordinate with kitchen to assure timely food service
  • Facilitate events with General Manager
  • Ensure seamless transition to banquet staff at event departure
  • Maintain inventory and operation of audio-visual equipment
