Job Description

Apartment Life is a dedicated organization focused on enhancing the quality of life for residents in senior adult communities. Serving as a bridge between residents and valuable resources, Apartment Life offers comprehensive programming and services that cater to the varied needs of its community members. The organization prides itself on fostering social engagement, wellness, enrichment, and stability among its residents by organizing thoughtful events, workshops, and activities that promote holistic well-being. Apartment Life primarily operates senior adult communities located in Antelope, CA, and Roseville, CA, providing residents with a supportive environment tailored to their unique lifestyle and needs.

The role of Events and Ministry Coordinator, also internally known as the Coordinator of Resident Services, is a part-time, paid position designed to support the Apartment Life service plan. This position requires a commitment of 16 hours per week at an hourly rate between $22 and $24, offering an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about serving senior adults. The coordinator collaborates closely with their Apartment Life supervisor to develop and implement a monthly schedule of community engagement activities. These activities include resident events, educational workshops and classes for adults and families, and resource-sharing initiatives. The focus is on ensuring each community’s needs are met effectively through well-planned events that encourage socialization, health improvement, and community connection.

The coordinator is responsible for planning and hosting three to four events or workshops each month that promote wellness, enrichment, social engagement, and stability within the senior communities. They maintain an up-to-date resource list, assist residents in navigating support options such as rent and food assistance, and provide personalized support to those with specific needs by connecting them with relevant local resources. Importantly, this role requires strong communication skills to liaise effectively with onsite staff and maintain ongoing dialogue with the Apartment Life supervisor. The coordinator also partners with local businesses to offer diverse and holistic programming that resonates with the residents’ interests and needs.

This position demands availability during the standard workweek, usually Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., with some flexibility to provide after-hours or weekend activities as required to meet resident availability. The role calls for physical capability to perform routine tasks such as bending, standing, sitting, and lifting up to 25 pounds, making it active and engaging. A valid driver’s license, liability insurance, and reliable transportation are essential for fulfilling duties like running event-related errands and coordinating with vendors.

Applicants for this role should possess at least a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in event planning, social impact, or human services. Experience with at-risk populations, event budgeting, and social media usage are valuable, along with bilingual Spanish ability, although this is not mandatory. The ideal candidate will be someone with excellent communication and listening skills, enthusiastic about fostering community well-being, and capable of working collaboratively within a supportive team environment. Apartment Life welcomes applications with or without resumes, LinkedIn profiles, or cover letters, underscoring their focus on genuine passion and relevant skills over formal documentation.
