The role on offer is for a part-time onsite Event Manager for Fever Originals’ Candlelight Concerts based in Sacramento, California. Candlelight is a unique concept launched in July 2019 by Fever Originals that produces classical music concerts in intimate and undiscovered venues illuminated by candlelight, creating an unforgettable ambiance for audiences. This series has expanded globally to over 300 cities including major locations in France, Spain, Portugal, and the United States, and continues to grow to new cities. By democratizing classical music and making it accessible to the general public, Candlelight offers a distinct live music experience combining culture, intimacy, and atmosphere. The Event Manager will play a crucial role running these weekly concerts held on Wednesdays and Fridays by managing onsite operations and ensuring events run smoothly.
This part-time role entails acting as the main point of contact onsite for Candlelight events and staff in Sacramento. The Event Manager is responsible for coordinating all event logistics, including scheduling and managing staff trained in ticket validation, guest seating, and venue setup, particularly handling the special candle arrangements unique to these concerts. Transporting event supplies to and from the venues is part of the job, with a preference for candidates holding a valid driver’s license, although alternative arrangements might be considered where necessary. Other responsibilities include managing inventory and supplies, handling printing and guest lists, delivering opening and closing remarks, and providing weekly reports to Fever Originals Project Managers. The role requires strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills to manage teams and represent the Fever and Candlelight brands professionally at each event.
Candidates should bring at least one year of relevant experience in event management or hold a relevant degree, with a passion for live music and event organization being highly desirable. Exceptional customer service skills, ability to lead a team onsite, problem-solving abilities, and comfort working under pressure are essential. Knowledge of AV and PA systems is a plus. The role requires the use of a personal laptop and benefits from candidates having a valid driver’s license.
The contract is for six months initially, with weekly concerts requiring shifts of 4-8 hours per day and a maximum of 29 hours per week. Some holiday work may be required, excluding major holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $25, with transport costs included in the pay. Fever provides an inclusive and diverse working environment that values all backgrounds and encourages applications from all sectors of society. The hiring process includes a video interview and a paid trial workday to assess fit within the team. Alarmingly, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a rapidly growing global entertainment company and take part in delivering extraordinary cultural experiences to expanding audiences.
