Job Description
MBK Senior Living is a distinguished operator in the senior living industry, known for its commitment to quality, compassionate care, and innovative wellness programs. With a legacy spanning more than 30 years, MBK Senior Living owns and operates 35 communities across the Western United States, offering a range of Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care services. The company prides itself on putting people first—both its residents and team members—while striving to exceed expectations and enrich lives every day. This dedication is embodied in the company's guiding philosophy of Yoi Shigoto, a Japanese concept that means "good, quality work." This philosophy reflects MBK's commitment to building trust, setting high standards, and fostering personal and professional growth throughout its communities. Recognized for excellence, MBK Senior Living has been ranked among the Top 50 "Best Workplaces in Aging Services" by Fortune magazine and is certified as a great place to work.
The Director of Health Services (DHS) at MBK Senior Living plays a critical leadership role in directing the overall implementation of health and wellness services within the community. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $105,000 annually, with a schedule set from Tuesday through Saturday and 40 hours per week. The DHS is responsible for ensuring that residents receive superior care while promoting their physical, psychological, and emotional wellness. Acting as a liaison among families, hospital personnel, physicians, community organizations, and other service agencies, the DHS helps position MBK Senior Living as the preferred senior living provider in the region.
Beyond management, the DHS fosters a care team equipped to deliver individualized services that maintain residents’ independence, dignity, autonomy, and sense of purpose. The role involves comprehensive responsibilities including resident assessments, care plan development, supervision of care and medication teams, coordination of health and wellness programs, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. The DHS ensures compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, upholds safety standards, and integrates family and resident feedback into care plans. This position also involves collaboration with multiple departments such as wellness programming, dining services, and environmental services, contributing to a holistic approach to resident well-being.
A key aspect of the role is mentoring and training team members to uphold high standards of care delivery, safety, and documentation. The DHS leads educational initiatives, recruitment, and staff development, while overseeing administrative duties related to budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory compliance. This leadership position may also serve as the Manager on Duty as needed and participates in community marketing efforts through positive interactions with families and service providers.
MBK Senior Living values a supportive and energetic work environment where team members are encouraged to grow personally and professionally, celebrated for their successes, and provided with tools such as mentorship programs, scholarships, financial services, and comprehensive health benefits. The DHS position offers a meaningful career pathway where one can make a tangible difference in the lives of senior residents while advancing in a rewarding organization dedicated to excellence and compassionate care.
