With a minimum salary of $42,427 and a work schedule during day shifts, the Cafeteria Supervisor will be primarily stationed at the Raul S Quintanilla Sr Middle School Steam Academy in Dallas, Texas. Responsibilities include preparing requisitions for food and supplies, resolving internal cafeteria issues, managing staff performance, maintaining complete records, and upholding district and departmental policies. This role demands an individual with experience in food service management, knowledge of food service regulations, and a commitment to delivering a high standard of meal service accountability. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • two to four years training related to food service
  • one year management experience in food service or completion of DISD training program
  • city of Dallas safety and sanitation certification within one month of hire
  • knowledge of food service regulations
  • ability to operate institutional equipment
  • proficiency in English communication
  • Spanish communication skills preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Accredited Senior High School Diploma or valid equivalent (USA equivalency)
  • two to four years formal job related training
  • one year successful management experience in food service or successful completion of the Dallas Independent School District Training Program
  • must have approved City of Dallas Safety and Sanitation Certification within one month of hire
  • demonstrated knowledge of food services rules and regulations to meet federal, state and local guidelines
  • ability to operate and maintain institutional equipment
  • ability to communicate in English by speaking, reading and writing
  • ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Provide students with a well-balanced and nutritious meal
  • manage the preparation and delivery of quality meals for all food through the use of standardized recipes and instructions on the menus to students and staff
  • ensure that high safety and sanitation standards are complied with by staff to ensure the health and safety of both staff and students
  • ensure that food service program meets or exceeds federal, state, local laws and regulations
  • ensure the requirements in the area of meal service accountability are adhered to within district guidelines
  • prepare and submit requisitions for food and supplies according to menus and delivery schedules to meet the daily requirements of the assigned cafeteria
  • resolve internal issues and communicate issues that cannot be handled at local level to central staff
  • requisition small equipment, cleaning supplies and promptly reports needed equipment repairs to central office
  • supervise the work activities of the cafeteria including interviewing and training employees
  • planning, assigning, directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • maintain complete records for program accountability including deliveries, cash receipts and meals served
  • follow and enforce district and departmental policies and procedures
  • perform all other job related duties as assigned by supervisor, principal and all department heads
