We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled professional to join our Food and Beverage team as a Kitchen Supervisor. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our culinary operations maintain the highest standards of quality, efficiency, and safety. The Kitchen Supervisor supports the culinary leadership team by overseeing daily kitchen operations and guaranteeing consistency in food preparation across all stations. This position requires a combination of hands-on cooking skills, team coordination, and adherence to strict food safety protocols, which helps in maintaining a smooth workflow during service times for the hotel's restaurants, banquets, and in-room dining services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising line cooks and prep staff, assisting with food preparation according to precise recipes and presentation standards, and ensuring that every dish meets the luxury hotel’s quality benchmarks. The Kitchen Supervisor will monitor kitchen cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with HACCP and other health regulations while managing inventory control and stock rotation efficiently. Additionally, the role involves training new culinary team members, coordinating communication between kitchen stations and front-of-house staff, and promptly reporting any equipment issues or maintenance needs.
This position also supports the Sous Chef or Executive Chef by assisting with administrative duties such as scheduling, preparing prep lists, and conducting daily shift briefings. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a culinary supervisory role
- Certified Food Handler license
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Capability to stand for extended periods and work in hot environments
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience as a lead line cook, demi chef, or kitchen supervisor, preferably in a luxury hotel or fine dining environment
- Strong culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking methods and kitchen equipment
- Leadership ability with excellent communication and organizational skills
- Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and inventory management
- Certified Food Handler license
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Supervise and support line cooks and prep staff during service to ensure efficiency and consistency
- Assist in food preparation and cooking according to recipes, presentation, and portion standards
- Ensure all dishes are delivered on time and meet luxury hotel quality expectations
- Monitor and maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety, and sanitation in accordance with HACCP and health regulations
- Assist with inventory control, stock rotation, and ordering of supplies
- Train and guide new culinary staff on procedures, safety, and service standards
- Coordinate communication between kitchen stations and front-of-house teams
- Report equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly
- Assist the Sous Chef or Executive Chef with administrative tasks such as scheduling, prep lists, and daily shift briefings
